UNDERGROUND SERVICE LOCATION
Electronic detection is by far the most safe and accurate method of locating underground services. We use EMF (Electromagnetc Field) technology to locate pipes and cables beneath the surface. There are numerous ways to create an EMF around a service with the most accurate being direct connection or clamping around it at a known point (ie where it enters a maintenance hole or comes out of the ground) . Then using a receiver we can ‘trace’ the alignment and depth of the service in question. Our team have decades of experience and training to use the best method and frequencies to better suit the individual job.
“Just because underground pipes and cables are out of sight it doesn’t mean they should be out of mind”
Our proven techniques are used extensively by many of the major Civil Contracting companies, Surveyors and Government departments as well as private home owners, fence builders, subcontractors and many more. The Lambert Locations team are professional, fully qualified service locators, so you can be sure that you are getting the most accurate locating service from Australia’s largest underground service locations company.
We have many systems in place to enable us to confidently locate all traceable services for any type of work. We use a vast array of technologies and in house equipment that allows us to locate many of the untraceable assets found underground. Our techniques are tried, trusted and proven. On many occasions we are requested to come and find what others can’t.
‘All work is carried out in accordance with AS5488 ‘Classification of Subsurface Utility Information (SUI)’
Acoustic Watermain Detection
Where watermains that are made of non-metallic materials such as PVC, Polyethylene, Asbestos Cement, Vitrified Clay etc are in the works area we need to use other location methods because Electro Magnetic Fields cannot be will not work. For watermains and house/tap feeds connected to a water source we use a technology known as Acoustic Detection (Watermain Thumping).
Where ‘normal’ EMF locating or Acoustic Watermain Detection cannot be used we recommend using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).
